Beneath Big EZ's simple interface are plenty of additional features, all accessed through intuitive gestures. You can, for instance, swipe the title left/right to play the next/previous media item or up/down to play the next/previous media item in a random ordering.
"Previous" and "Next" arrow buttons move to the previous or next item in the playlist, and a "Pause" button toggles pause and play. Press and hold the "Previous" or "Next" buttons to move the playback time backward or forward more rapidly.
Tap the title to go to a full screen display of the title, artist, and artwork. Swipe the title as described above to change the media item. Tap the screen again to leave full screen mode.
Tap the list icon in the lower-right corner and the contents of the current playlist will be displayed in a scrolling table. Tap one of the items to play it.
Tap the playlist's title to turn shuffling ON and OFF for that playlist.
Tap the help "?" icon in the lower-left corner of the screen for lots of help. Press and hold it to toggle the auto-dimmer ON and OFF.
Big EZ looks for playlists named "Ez1" thru "Ez4" but it will use any playlists residing on your device. Just use iTunes to populate one or more of them with any of the media types listed above and Biz EZ will find and play them. To switch between the playlists tap one of the buttons along the bottom of the screen and that playlist will begin playing.
If you do not have any playlists named "Ez1" through "Ez4" you can still use any playlist. Long press a playlist buttons at the bottom of the screen and a list of all your device's playlists will be displayed. Select a playlist and Big EZ will associate it with that playlist button and begin playing.
Big EZ is designed to be as hands-off and persistent as possible. It remembers the item is was playing if you change playlists and then return. It also remembers the play position for all non-music media items and music media items longer than six minutes, and it does this between app restarts. You will continue where you left off when listening to those lengthy podcasts and audio books.
You may create, delete, and change the contents of a playlists while Big EZ is playing and it will discover any changes on its own.
A large progress bar continuously updates the relative playback position or you may drag the Big EZ thumb to reposition the playback time. Tapping the bar anywhere along its length will also change the current playback time.
Biz EZ will play in background when you change apps or put your device to sleep.
